Of the things I enjoy most besides placing caches in far flung
places is naming them. No doubt you have noticed some of those in
Cunningham Falls SP. I had great difficulty naming this one. The
logbook inside this cache is labeled "Come and Get Me".
Unfortunately this name is too bland.
Last winter the MDGPS Forums had a thread on Hard Core Caching.
In the spirit of winter caching I was going to name this cache by
the same name. Yet still it was absent a certain quality. For those
that have sampled “Pointless and Sadistic”, you know I
like to add a local flair to my caches. So the task of naming this
cache continued.
Two winters ago I released a cache featuring LPYankeeFan's nappy
knit winter hat. It was released just as winter fell upon the
mountain. Larry wasted little time trailblazing to and from the
cache. He even brought Snurt for good measure. The ice and snow
made the trails too difficult to travel so they bushwacked to and
fro. Ha! I have found inspiration for this cache. Suspecting LP
would like to share his adventure again, I included Snurt in the
fun as well. Welcome to LPYF & Snurt’s Excellent
Adventure.
This cache was placed in time for some winter follies in
Cunningham Falls SP. It is not on the trail. Parking coordinates
are available from some of the other caches in the park. FTF
ordinarily has a more difficult time since there are no geotrails
leading to the cache. This one is different. I have flagged GZ with
orange tape visible at some angles from more than 100 feet away.
This will guarantee the first to seek will find the cache,
regardless of total snowfall. The same cannot be said for those
that follow.
Here's the trick. FTF must remove the tape and
hide the cache as well if not better than found. The object is to
beat LPYankeeFan and Snurt to the cache. For good measure,
leave lots of tracks in the snow to make it clear they were not
first to arrive. So who will it be? SueCat? MD8baller? Wirtz?
Corfmania? WVKiwi? Czar7? _JohnnyCache (Mr FTF)? The Weather
Warrior (AKA N3PRZ)? Vinny of Vinny & Sue?
FTF will find an unactivated “Traditional Cache”
coin plus several other trinkets including a white rubber ducky.
Please save the rubber ducky for LP.
A frozen congratulations to eXtreme Jeep for FTF
