Realignment 96 Traditional Cache
chasclifton: This cache has had a good run and brought geocachers to an out-of-the-way monument, but I am getting tired of replacing the container, so farewell, Realignment 96.

In Lake Pueblo State Park, but no park entry fee is necessary to find this cache.
Pull into the marking lot shared by the Colorado Div. of Wildlife and US Bureau of Reclamation offices. Beyond its west end, you will see an prominent monument.
This monument originally commemorated a realignment of Colorado 96, first laid out in the 1920s. That route, however, was erased when Pueblo Dam was built in the early 1970s, right across the road. Highway 96 now runs south of the reservoir.
Stop at the Division of Wildlife office for fishing and hunting licenses, maps, and brochures.
Go back to the entry road and continue west towards the dam. At the T-junction below the dam, turn north to visit the fish hatchery.
Or if you turn south (left) at the T-junction and then right at the next T, you will soon reach the Lake Pueblo State Park visitor center.
**Congratulations to Cx4 for FTF.**
