Once Wheels00 and I collaborated on a high-terrain FTF -- and by "collaborated" I mean I was first on the scene, realized I couldn't go for it by myself, called him, and he came and made the grab for both of us. It was a little like having a trained monkey on call. The very next day on Twitter a friend from a different sphere used the phrase "Helper Monkey" in a tweet and a nickname was born. Not too long later, I rocked a puzzle we'd both been working on and I became Puzzle Monkey. So, even though I can climb, and Wheels00 can certainly solve puzzles, these nicknames play to our strengths as cachers and the way we complement each other as caching partners.
So here's to Helper Monkey on the occasion of his 3,000th find! And a very Merry Christmas, too! Appropriately enough, the cache has been stocked initially with some monkey-themed trade items.
Special thanks to early19713 for the cache container and to birdman270 for great ingenuity in helping me place the cache. Let's call him Enthusiasm Monkey.
Honorary FTF (and prizes!) to Wheels00. Congrats to scottberks for the FTF after publication.
More special thanks to Birdman270, NatalieD!, Geofogies, macwin11se, KerrillB, Slainte1969 and Slainte2003, Mary and TomEagle55, Wheelz01, TurtleFan, EnPleinAire, BugleLou and BugleAnn for making the honorary FTF a real celebration!
