Stockholms central är Sveriges största järnvägsstation.Den sträcker sig från Vattugatan i söder till Kungsbron i norr. Stationen invigdes den 18 juli 1871 och består av två delar. Norra delen med spår 1-8 i norr utgör en säckstation för Ostkustbanan, Mälarbanan och Arlandabanan. Spår 10-19 i väster fungerar som en genomgångstation för Västra stambanan och pendeltågen.

Today the station is not only the largest station in Sweden, with over 200,000 visitors daily. Of them are about 170,000 travellers (105,000 with commuter trains, 25,000 with Arlanda Express and 40,000 with other trains).
