Tradi am Alten Rathaus in Worfelden
Das alte Rathaus ist eine der beiden Sehenswürdigkeiten in Worfelden. Da es an der Kirche schon einen kleinen Cache gibt, haben wir nun auch noch einen in der Ortsmitte versteckt.
Das Alte Rathaus von Worfelden wurde ca. 1775 erbaut. Es wurde mit einem konstruktiven Fachwerk errichtet, im Gegensatz zum sonst üblichen Sichtfachwerk.
In vergangener Zeit befanden sich dort auch Gemeindebäckerei, Gemeindeschmiede und eine Wachstube mit Gefängnis.
Auch wurde das Rathaus als Schule benutzt, bis 1945 dort amerikanische Truppen stationiert wurden.
Heute befindet sich im Alten Rathaus eine Außenstelle der Gemeindeverwaltung Büttelborn, die Bücherei und der Heimat- und Geschichtsverein. Im Anbau hinter dem Rathaus war früher die Freiwillige Feuerwehr untergebracht, jetzt ist dort das DRK aktiv.
Am Rathaus wurde 1988 eine Gedenktafel angebracht um die jüdische Bevölkerung Worfeldens in Erinnerung zu behalten.

ENGLISH: Tradi at the Old Cityhall from Worfelden
The old City Hall is one of the two major sights in Worfelden. As there is already a small cache at the old church, we have now placed a cache at the center of town.
Build with a timber frame construction at about 1775, the old City Hall accommodated the community bakery, community smithy and a guardroom with prison.
Up to 1945 it was also used as a school until American troops moved in.
Nowadays it is used as a branch office of the Büttelborn municipal administration, the library and to house the local history club. The annex to the main building was previously used by the fire deparment and is now housing the DRK.
