Geocache Description:

A little over a half mile hike up Guldin Hill. You can stay on the unmarked trails to within 50 ft. of the cache. Some of the trails are step and muddy in wet weather.

This cache will take you through a part of the St. Lawrence Watershed Property. The natural springs in these woods provided St. Lawrence Borough residents with fresh drinking water for about 40 years. Guldin hill forms the northwestern boundary of the water shed. As the Borough grew in population this system could no longer meet the demand for water, so in the mid 60’s the system was shut down and borough residents began getting water from Mt. Penn. One of the springs which is cut into the hill is located just 125 ft NNW from the first stage of "St. Lawrence Woods". Water was collected there then piped to a reservoir.

The cache container is a Qt size Lock & Lock.

The trailhead is located at N40°19.784 W075°51.774 and on-street parking is available near the intersection of Adams St. and Stoner Ave.

Congratulations to Kara and Rusty of the danzec team for their FTF!!!
