Gloucester Business Park: Run To The Hills Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mzebonga: After a lot of thought, I've decided to remove this cache. I've really enjoyed the (sporadic) logs that I've received for the cache but with the closing of many of the other GBP caches, this one has been somewhat out on its own.

It may be that it gets reinvented at some point in the future but if anyone wants to claim the spot in the meantime, I am more than happy for them to do so!

Thanks to everyone who logged this. I've really enjoyed your accounts of finding it.

Geocache Description:

Small camoflaged tumbler (kindly donated by Hampton Wick).

Gloucester Business Park is a relatively new development on the outskirts of Gloucester. Largely defined by the presence of a large supermarket and various distribution hubs, it also borders on the Cooper's Edge residential area.

The Business Park is easily accessible from the M5 at Junction 11a and can offer weary travellers the opportunity to pitstop for food or a night's rest at the local Inns.

The Park itself is based on the old airfield for the Gloster Aircraft Company where Frank Whittle's Gloster E.28/38 turbojet underwent some of it's taxiing trials. Some remnants from the old airfield are still visible in the area along with an old WW2 gun emplacement at the top of nearby Nut Hill (GC1DZBE).

The Park also has access via footpaths to Cooper's Hill (GC79CB), where the annual cheese rolling event takes place.

About the cache
The footpaths towards Cooper's Hill run out from this part of the Business Park to the annual Cheeserolling event and into an as yet uncached region of Gloucester (hint hint!)

The approach to the cache may be a little bit tricky for buggies and wheelchairs and, again, the last couple of metres won't be accessible to them.
Congratulations FTF!
