Geocache Description:

Rocky Gutter Wildlife Management Area. Please wear your safety orange. Cache is a small, round lock and lock.

For years, there's only been one cache in this huge wildlife management area. There's no pretty ponds here or even scenic views. It's just acres and acres of traditional Massachusetts woodlands. There's white pines, red maple, oak, black gum, holly, and white cedar in these woods. Blueberries and greenbrier are also common. There's a few small streams on the maps we reviewed, but we've yet to discover them. There's native wildlife including deer, fox, coyote, rabbit, squirrel and grouse.
This is the kind of woods we love; quiet woods that just seem to go on and on. So, if you, too, are a lover of the local woods then you'll enjoy all the caches Boot Group and I put out today. We thought we could make this area fun for geocachers by placing a bunch of caches to make it worth your trip. We placed some quick and easy caches, and some fairly hefty walks out here today. We've barely put a dent in the forest today with the 12 new caches today. We only stopped at 12 because we ran out of daylight. This cache is a short hike. Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!
