Geocache Description:

Austin Homegrown 15: Farewell Flamingos.
This series of caches is a dedication to all the Austin natives.

This cache is located near what was a famous plant and garden store. The grassy slope in front of the store was known of it's iconic flock of pink flamingos. The flamingo flock would change colors and themes occasionally: yellow for the Tour de France, red for Westlake state championships, black and white like a cow for ...errrr... for what reason I don't know, and so on... The city of Westlake disliked the flock and tried unsuccessfully to ban the flamingos--which backfired and made them even more popular!

Unfortunately, the store called it quits after all these years and the flock has flown. But I hope this cache will remind people of the flamingos in their glorious heyday.

Cache is a quick grab, but located in a very public place. Be sneaky.

Congrads to BulldogBlitz!!! FTF!
