Known for its week-long schedule of events, California Rodeo's "Big Week" is the largest community event held in Salinas. In addition to the rodeo, there are parades, barbeques, cowboy poetry presentations, fireworks, concerts, and a carnival.
The Red Pony's fictional Jody dreamed of riding in this rodeo and John Steinbeck, as a boy, rode his pony, Jill, in its horse parade.
The cache is hidden under the watchful eye of the California Rodeo cowboy and accessible from the parking lot. The container is a magnetized bison tube with a log. Please bring your own pen.
