The Track to No-where (Bay of Plenty) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Geckoh: Am archiving this cache with some regret but for the interest of public safety, I read in todays newspaper that there had been a couple of huge slips taking out the start of the kohi point track (from the Ohope end) so I went to investigate, climbed up a dangerous bank till I met the track and followed it to past the track to nowhere only to discover the usual track to Otawairere was now also the track to nowhere...... a cache in the middle of 2 huge slips, an archive in my book!!

PS the cache was still there!!

Geocache Description:

The Track to No-where

Cache is located on a small side track off the track heading from Ohope's West End to Otarawairere Beach, the cache is not far from the beginning of the track, only a small climb, it is located on a dis-used track that I assume goes no-where, or maybe to a big slip? Care must be taken, probably not a good idea to do it at night, you do not need to go off the track as such, it will be clear where to go, there are a few slippery sets of stairs to climb and GZ should be by a boardwalk. Cache is a small 200ml painted Sistema container.
