Lead vocalist Bono wrote the lyrics in response to the notion that it is possible to identify a person's religion and income based on the street on which they lived, particularly in Belfast.
I have found a street with no name in Meadows.
Meadows, with a population of less than 1,000, is a nice, and quiet little town, but has some interesting history.
At GZ you'll see, what I think is, an architecturally interesting church. St Georges was built in 1869 - 70. Some very old graves are closeby.
The laneway / street with no name was surveyed in different places as the town developed.
As is common in a small, relatively undeveloped town, locals would cut though from Mill St to/from Mawson Rd, between the church and small council chambers (District Council of Kondoparinga was established 1853, but the chambers weren't built till 1893)/ Institute (built 1914, became the library and is now an Antiques Shop). In 1999, when the library was sold, a survey occurred cutting off the land used for the lane (partly from the church land, mostly from council land), but no name was ever given to it.

brisal5 picked up a metaphorical Silver, being 17 minutes too late.
I was proud of this hide when I put it out. I engineered a nice post and container - if anyone knows me = engineering & me are never used in the same sentence. Sometime, someone decided to destroyed it, but at least the logbook and film canister container was less than subtly hidden. Oh well.
