Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden around an entrance of Oumichou market.

The crossing Musashigatsuji is named after a Samurai who had been living around here, named "Nakagawa Musashi no Mori."

Oumichou market, which is at the north east corner of Musashiga Tsuji crossing, had been a biggest market in Kanazawa. Especially famous because of the fresh fish and seafoods. Kanazawa faces to the Japan Sea (Nihonkai) which has bottom of steep drop-off, meeting point of hot and cold water flow, so many kinds of fishes and seafoods are fished at Kanazawa. Also processed seafoods (dried, salted, dipped in soy sauce, fermented, etc) seafoods which had brought and sold to the capital Kyoto are famous here. The local spiecies "Kaga yasai" vagetables are available here. If you find nice souvenir, you can send to somebody or your home directly from shops using the cool/chilled delivery (Ku-ru Takuhaibin).

Recently the old market is rebuilt, still crowed market remains in the 1st floor, and you can enjoy eating seafoods at many restaurants at the 2nd floor. Also many shops in other floors, and modern shops (cloths, etc.) are available at another building "Meitetsu Emuza" in front of this market.
