Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden around a famous temple Tentokuin at Kodatsuno.

Kodatsuno is the area at the ridge of small hill next to Kanazawa castle, developed by the domain load Maeda as temple area. The Kodatsuno street has many historical buildings, some of them are remained and re-utilized as modern purpose, so currently mixture of very historical cultures (>150 years), Showa era (50-100 years) and modern facilities. One of the favorite street in Kanazawa of this cache owner.

The Tentokuin temple is one of the most famous & the biggest temple in Kanazawa, built by 3rd domain load Maeda Toshitsune in 1623. The temple is also famous of princess Tamahime.

Princess Tamahime, a daughter of King Tokugawa comes from Edo (Tokyo) to Kanazawa as a "exchanged hostage" (domain load Maeda must show fealty to Tokugawa, and exchanging hostage means not to attack each other), and became a wife of Maeda Toshitsune, a very strange person.

You can watch a puppet play of this story using robot puppet (yes, Kanazawa is very famous as high-tech town!!) if you visit inside. Also there's a very nice silent tea room & Japanese garden and you can enjoy tea celemony (paid) here, so the cache owner suggest you to apply observation inside at the temple office.

*open: 9:00-16:30, observation fee: 500 yen, tea celemony: 500 yen, enter & pray at outside: free.

The cache is set at outside of the temple area, but it's parking and next to a kindergarten, so use stealth when searching.

キャッシュは小立野天徳院の付近に隠してあります。

小立野は金沢城に隣接した丘の稜線にあたる通りで、城主前田家によって設置された多数の寺院を擁します。小立野通りは歴史的な建物が多く、そのうちのいくつかは現代的な用途に最良されています。したがって150年以上前の史跡、昭和の名残がある建物、そして現代的な建物が混在しています。キャッシュオーナーが最も好きな金沢の通りのひとつです。

天徳院は金沢で最も有名で大きな寺であり、3代目藩主前田利常公によって1623年に設立されました。玉姫さまのお寺として有名です。

玉姫さまは、徳川家と前田家の交換人質として金沢に来、前田利常 (奇人として有名です) の正妻としてこの地で生涯を過ごしました。

このお寺では、この物語をロボットを用いた人形劇で観ることができます (金沢はハイテク工業が発達した都市として有名です)。他に閑静な庭園を見ながらお茶を楽しめる茶室などもありますので、時間があればぜひ内部を拝観していくことをお勧めします。

*開院時間: 9:00-16:30、拝観料: 500円、茶室: 500円、入場と参拝のみは無料です。

キャッシュは寺院の敷地外にあります。駐車場であり、幼稚園が隣接しているので、くれぐれも怪しい行動は取らないようご注意ください。
