This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

A small lock-n-lock hidden near a dormant (I think) volcano.

The last time a cache was placed here, the description talked about "Gilroy’s own Mount Vesuvius. Beware of this Gargantuan erupting volcano - casting, red and yellow lights into the night skies, belching, erupting, that which, but moments before, were deep in the belly of the beast." (quote totally ripped off from sloigo's cache page located at: GCTFJZ)

Now, it is just a nicely tended pile of rocks with some steps leading up to them and some contraptions that have wires sticking out that probably were the "red and yellow lights" at one time.

I've lived in Gilroy since 1979, and I have never actually seen this volcano in action... although, until I started Geocaching in late 2008, it wouldn't have really come to my attention anyway!
