Geocache Description:

Huish Bridge (Black Bridge) over the River Parrett between Langport and Muchelney, is a picturesque location with free parking, providing the ideal opportunity to explore the droves and riverside footpaths.

Huish bridge, over the River Parrett carried a road from Huish village to Huish Level and Frog Lane. It was so named in 1581, and was destroyed by the king's forces in 1646. After being rebuilt, small properties in Huish and a house in Langport were given in trust for the maintenance of Huish bridge, and became known as the Bridge Land charity. In 1791 it was described as a wooden structure, standing on four stone piers. In 1840 Huish bridge, then a footbridge, was taken over by the Parrett Navigation Company, which replaced it with a wooden carriage bridge, by 1894 the Bridge Land charity gave a further £150 to rebuild the bridge.
Today the bridge is made of iron and is now known as "Black Bridge"

Stealth will be required as this is a popular area for dog walkers and fishermen.

When you have found this one, why not continue on foot down Huish Drove to Frog Lane where you will find the entrance to a footpath that will lead you to another of my caches -
