Geocache Description:

A moderate hike from one of two directions to an all- but abandoned public cemetery.

The Burrows Plain Cemetery was from the late 1700s, named after the Burrows family that owned the farm where the burying ground was located. In 1988, the Guilford Cemetery Commission had it listed as "exact location unsure" and "hasn't been re-discovered". Our family went in search of this cemetery a couple of years ago and re-discovered it. As the location is now known, we wanted to share this historic landmark with the caching community.

Out of respect for these unknown inhabitants (the grave markers are un-inscribed), we have placed the cache just outside the burial area.

There are two parking waypoints listed. One is on River Road, the other on Packers Corners Road. They each have approximately a half mile hike in on old town roads and snowmobile trails. The Packers Corners side is a bit more maintained.
