rysten: This cache goes missing too often. I think the rangers run over it and/or confiscate it because it is too close to the border of the poppy reserve. Anyway, since it is rarely found and often missing I think it's time to put this one to rest.

A small plastic box camouflaged with sand textured paint and then uncamouflaged with shark paintings.

CONGRATULATIONS to tech4rf for a very speedy First to Find!!

The original Sand Shark's Lair was a small plastic box camouflaged with sand textured paint and then uncamouflaged with shark paintings. I intended to hide it in sand but the sand sharks said their favorite food was rattlesnake. I've only seen two rattlesnakes in California and the biggest, meanest one was at the Poppy Reserve so I let the sand sharks live on the outskirts of the reserve. This should be a very colorful place in the spring. Have fun and watch out for those snakes. The original cache disappeared and I didn't have a new lair painted up so we dropped off a spray painted jar to serve as a cache until the lair gets remodeled.

The short drive off pavement requires a high clearance vehicle, but the slightly longer back way is usually driveable by car. We came out the short way and our SUV had no trouble coming out but it might have trouble getting in. So... take the long scenic route and hopefully see more poppies.
