Geocache Description:

This cache continues a series of hides dedicated to songs by individual artists or groups I enjoy and also relate to the cache itself. This cache is also dedicated to BeerCache 2010!

I guarantee you that when you get together a group of people all gathered for a common geo-cause at a drinking and eating establishment and someone plays Red Red Wine most will have a big smile on their face. Absolutely love this song!! Although when I did a bit of research on the thing…to my horror…my mom and I have something in common music-wise. Man this is going to hurt, Red Red Wine was written and first performed by Neil Diamond back in 1968. Now aside from the fact that Neil Diamond is one of my mom’s favorites, as well as Jeremy Creed’s, as I dug a little deeper I found out that UB40 covered this song from the Jamaican reggae singer Tony Tribe who covered Diamond’s version in 1969. I pulled up the song to take a listen and to my surprise I kind of liked Tribe’s version. Definitely has a ska/reggae sound to it. I then pulled up Diamond’s original version and…well…found it less than enjoyable. Now I know what the song is about but if I want to get that depressed I’ll turn on CNN. UB40 made their rendition of the covers on their album Labour of Love and took the song to #34 in 1984 (U.S). The song then was re-released again in 1988 as a single and reached #1 in the U.S.
As for the cache itself, keep in mind that Red Red Wine has been covered and use that as your hint. It will all make sense when you find this easy cache. Please be sure to replace cache as you found.
