Beautiful Leura and its environs are rightly famous for the natural beauty of the surrounding Blue Mountains -- fabulous lookouts, breathtaking walks along the cliffs and glorious sunsets. Visitors flock here from all over the world. Leura Mall is also well known for its many shops and cafes! (This geocache was originally placed to honour one of my favourite coffee shops which, sadly, has now disappeared . . . )
My favourite 'Stock Market' café, described in the tourist brochure as follows: "It’s the wise investor who opens the door to this miniature café operated by former Sydney chef, Nicole McLlwaine. Soups, artisan breads, pastries, yummy croissant sandwiches, all are thoughtfully prepared. You’ll meet travellers from the far corners of the world as you share a table for breakfast or lunch, and for a bonus on your investment, try the Market’s rich Toby’s Estate Coffee." (Unfortunately, the original cafe is now closed, but there are many more coffee shops nearby.) Anyhow, the little geocache situated near the smell of coffee is almost wheelchair accessible, but ever-present muggles will be a challenge for the prospective finder. Why not buy a nice cappuccino and do some surreptitious reconnaissance while sitting on lovely Leura Mall and enjoying it? The cache will initially be invisible, but the experienced geocacher will notice some likely hiding spots. Retrieving and replacing the cache will be a challenge if muggles are present nearby. But it's definitely possible to do your search 'after hours' when Leura Mall is a bit more quiet. The object of your search isn't hidden inside any shops, nor is it secreted under or within any of the moveable cafe furniture, chairs or tables or signs. UPDATE: The former cafe is now gone. . . Earlier photos may be misleading. But you can actually see the hiding place in some of the uploaded pictures. Bring your own pencil or pen for this one . . .
