The Team was heading for a hike along the Baden Powell Trail and we had noticed that the last finder of UFO GeoCrash #2 said the log book was wet so we decided to stop off to perform a little cache maintenance.
We are not strong believers in conspiracy theories, but there were some things that came up on the trip that we wanted to share. If you start toward UFO GeoCrash #2 from the top of Prospect Road you will see what we mean when you look at the attached photos - why build not one but two "water tanks" when there is a huge water supply not two miles away in Capilano Lake? And what does the plate set into the ground near the water tanks mean - just who is watching whom? What's in the tanks anyway?
We hiked a little ways up the BP Trail to check out the tanks from above and we had got as far as one of the signposts when we started to get the feeling we were being watched. The GPSr began putting out some strange readings so we felt the need to give some better directions to what we soon found.
Head east up the BP Trail with the "water tanks" on your right until you get to a pair of signposts. Off to your right (west) you will see a kind of throne cut into a stump. Who would build a throne here, and why? Head south from the throne, counting off 69 steps. Up the hill to your left you will see a large, displaced boulder (displaced by what??) and signs of a fire that roared through this area. Hmm, a lightning strike might have split the boulder about 55 years ago but that amount of damage would more likely be caused by a crashed UFO. As you approach the boulder, be cautious - it was here we really felt like we were not alone. You will find solid evidence to back up what GeoCrash #2 revealed. The title of this cache is based on the precise surgical incision we found on the object.
OWNERS' NOTE July 2011 - Some mean-spirited Muggles destroyed the original alien "object". Not to worry, nearby we discovered further evidence of a close encounter. The log book has been placed inside what appears to be the frightening remains of these visitors from ???????? Please put the log book back where you find it. Don't be scared, the lack of cerebral material suggests it died long ago.
OWNERS' NOTE Feb 2015 - it appears that some miraculous surgical techniques have restored the original "object" to its former glory so it has resumed it duties of defending the cache in its new location. Iggy the Alien welcomes you at the new coordinates, and he asks that you treat him gently after his complete restoration.
