This was the first geocache that I found and made me fall in love with geocaching. The original owner evidently disabled it. I couldn't let this special location go dormant so I brought it back to life. I hope you enjoy this spot as much as I do. Bring a snack and enjoy it for awhile.
Long, long ago there was a young boy who was boating down the creek that is close to this geocache. He had no business being in the water for the weather was terribly treacherous....more wild than had ever been seen before, with blinding flashes of ligtning and deafening claps of thunder. The wind was breaking limbs and whipped at everything. But the boy went on, searching for a prize catch. Legend has it that something caught him instead though. The menacing weather had awakened the Octopus from a deep slumber from some deep hole in the creek. He was in a dreadfully cranky mood and attacked the first thing in sight, which was the poor boy and his boat. The octopus crawled up the creekbank, where he planned to enjoy his meal, but choked on the boys paddle. Within the clutches of the ancient octopus you can still see the petrified remains . The geocache is stuck close to the Octopus' mouth....
