A quick find next to the Tetlow Community Gardens.
Welcome to the Coombes Edge series. This is a 4 mile circuit that you should allow at least 2 hours to walk. Please see CE-1 for further details.
WALK ROUTE: After 'Well, Well, Well' which I'm sure went well, continue down the hill onto the road and down to the village centre. Here you will find the local newsagent for an ice cream in the summer and a choice of pubs, both serve food. Carefully cross the road, and always remember as you wait for a opportunity that Charlesworth can't have a pedestrian crossing as there isn't enough traffic to merit one. You need to take a slight detour here and walk down Long Lane opposite. On completion head back up to the village centre, turn right and walk down the road to the start point.
CACHE: The Tetlow Community Gardens were built to commemorate a much loved Parish and County Councillor, Brenda Tetlow. Cllr Tetlow, who lived further down Long Lane worked very hard to improve life for the people in the village and this small garden was created in her memory when she retired. The cache should be an easy find to finish the series. Public toilets are available here during opening hours and benches to rest weary feet.
***** There is clearly a dog muck problem here of which I wasn't aware. You do not need to take more than one step from the path in an area free from the offending problem. The cache is the far end away from the road. I have reported the problem to High Peak Borough Council and also the Glossop Chronicle who will hopefully encourage people to stop of face the consequences. I will monitor the situation as I would prefere not too archive it immediately but we will see.*****
