A pleasant walk in an area of natural beauty to a regular size cache, skirting a nature reserve and the River Rhone. A circular walk is possible from car park of 2.1kms (2.7kms including clues).
Navigate to and park your car in Cartigny at N 46 10.483, E 06 01.377 at an altitude of 420m the journey to the cache will take you down to 355m and you can then return the way you came or walk through the Moulin de Vert natural space and take a circular route back to your car.
To find the cache, walk about 0.3kms into the centre of the village and by the Post Office (La Poste) note the year the fountain (on Rue des Trois Fontaines) was built. From here you can see a second fountain. Note its year and take the average of the two numbers. Add 31 to this average and you have a year - a four digit number ABCD to substitute into the latitude/longitude reference.

Go past your parking place and head for the trailhead at N 46 10.538 E 06 01.628 and walk down to the cache co-ordinates you worked out from the clues.
(When you get to the place, there is no need to disturb anything or go behind the barbed wire - it is easily accessible)
