Geocache Description:

The Katy Trail in Missouri is 225 miles long, in the right-of-way of the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. Some sections are part of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail and the American Discovery Trail. The trail mostly follows the north bank of the Missouri River, and is open to hikers, bikers, joggers and cross country skiers year-round, from sunrise to sunset.

This cache is located in the middle of the Defiance to Treloar section, nearly a mile east of the Dutzow trailhead, where there is a deli, restrooms, and a place to park.

The cache container is a small pill bottle with a logsheet and pencil (but bring your own, just in case) just beyond the Katy Trail State Park boundary, on private property. The owner helped to place it and will maintain it. You don't even have to leave the state park to reach it. No need to expand your search if it is not where it should be. Please use the additional hint and it should be a quick find.

When you approach ground zero look for a sign. Read the sign and heed the sign (both sides of it). Log the cache, relax (there's a couple of benches about sixty yards down the trail) enjoy the awesome scenery, and continue along on your bike or hike.

or see theWikipedia entry

Note: if you are biking the trail,

do not ride your bike over the Washington Bridge as it is very narrow with only one lane each way.

We hope you enjoy your experience on the Katy Trail and come back again. It is truly a trail for all seasons.

Congratulations to MallyMal for the FTF!
