Geocache Description:

The coordinates listed above do not lead you to the cache itself but do lead you to the courtyard outside of the Mountain Inn at Wintergreen, where you must follow the clues to figure out the coordinates to the cache.

The terrain is really a 1 until the cache itself, which is located on a hill and therefore not handicap accessible.

Parking is the hardest part about this cache. It will either be really easy or really hard. Just park as close to The Mountain Inn as you legally can.

The coordinates you are trying to solve are:
37 AB.C
078 DE.FG

A = Near the posted coords you will see a plaque that is dedicated to one of the founders of Wintergreen, L.F. Payne. At the bottom of that plaque is a date. Take the "Month" number (the plaque has the month written out, you'll have to use your skills to figure out what number month it is) and plug it in for A. (This may be buried in snow if there is a lot of it.)

B = Go to 54.872 56.612. Near there you will see a row of lockers. Count the number of lockers on the left and subtract that from the number of lockers on the right and add 1. (Pay no attention to the numbers written on the lockers, only how many there are).

C = Go to the trail map located directly across from the entrance to The Copper Mine restaurant and at the entrance to the ski slopes. At the bottom of the trail map you'll see the vertical drop for each of Wintergreen's Chairlifts. Subtract the vertical drop for the Potato Patch lift from that of the Highlands Express. Add 1 to that total.

D = Count the number of Chairlifts with more than 100ft vertical drop.

E = From that same plaque dedicated to L.F. Payne take the "Day" from the date and subtract 20.

F = Look for the Wintergreen logo (located just about everywhere you could possibly look!) It is made up of a number of leaves and a number of berries. Add the number of berries to the number of leaves. Multiply this total by 11.

G = Directly across from the L.F. Payne plaque is a sign for The Mountain Inn. Count the total number of words on that sign (not including "The Mountain Inn"). Subtract 1 from that total.

Now you're ready to go! The cache itself is located ~250ft from the posted coords. There is a lot of muggle traffic in this area so be on your best stealth behavior and be sure to rehide/recover the cache well! If it has recently snowed you may need to use your hand to dig a bit.

While I am maintaining and releasing the cache, the credit for masterminding the hunt goes to Shelly9842. I hope your GPS has a calculator!
