Was ist eine Esel?
Richtig: eine Eisenbahn. Zumindest war es der Bürgeler Esel (oder auch Eisenberger Esel genannt). Von Porstendorf bis Eisenberg fuhr von 1905 bis 1969 eine Eisenbahn. Danach wurde sie stillgelegt und dieser Bahndamm dient heute als Wander- und Radweg. Von Graitschen nach Bürgel sind es zum Beispiel etwa 4 km. Man kann in Graitschen parken und den Weg nach Bürgel nehmen und dort in einer der begehrten Eisdielen Rast machen.
Auf dem Weg dorthin kommt ihr über eine Holzbrücke, die als Holzmodell für die Kunitzer Hausbrücke diente und einige Jahre in Jena in der Nähe des Anatomieturms ausgestellt war.
Dort findet ihr einen Cache und einen Hinweis auf einen Bonuscache in der Nähe.
Wenn ihr in Richtung Golmsdorf weiterfahrt könnt ein leckeres Mahl in Egon Zeutschels Gaststätte "Zum Gleistal" in Golmsdorf nehmen. Der Weg dahin ist auch während der jetzigen Bauarbeiten (2011) befahrbar.

What is a donkey?
Yes, you are right – it is a train! At least if we talk about the „Buergel Donkey“. This was a train driving from Porstendorf to Eisenberg in the years from 1905 until 1969. Today there is a hiking and biking trail. You can walk the distance of about 4km from Graitschen to Buergel and make a stop in on of the famous ice crème bars.
You can park your car in Graitschen. On the way to Buergel you will cross a wooden bridge which was a model of the house bridge of the community Kunitz and was shown in Jena for some years. There you will find a cache and a hint for a Bonus cache near by.
If you are taking the direction towards Golmsdorf we recommend to make a delicious lunch or dinner stop in Egon Zeutschels restaurant/hotel "Zum Gleistal" there. You can go there by car even during the current construction works.
