Geocache Description:

A 35mm film can inside a mushroom at the base of a tree.

Guildford Chantries - West. One of a series of nine.

The Chantries form part of the ridge of the North Downs, just to the South of Guildford. Chantry Wood is 78 hectares of mixed woodland and an Area of High Ecological Value within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in striking distance of Guildford Town Centre.

The Chantries are popular with walkers (and dogs) all year. Rabbits, deer, badgers and foxes live wild there. In April/May the wooded area is a mass of bluebells. The top of the hill has open fields with stunning views to the south.

There is a bridlepath, part of the North Downs Way Long Distance National Path, that runs along the north side of the Chantries hill. At the west end, off Pilgrim's Way is a car park close to the cache.

The cache used to be a 3 litre food container under a pile of old branches, but that disappeared and it has been replaced by a mushroom.

The "First to Find" trophy went to LargeLemonCheescake - well done.

Please ensure that the cache is left with the lid firmly on to keep the contents dry and is well hidden.
