Hello and Welcome to Newcastle POI. A very easy multi-staged cache that is designed to get you exploring around this beautiful city and show you some interesting highlights along the way. You should expect to take atleast 3 hours to find all of these parts and the walk will around 3 miles. You will see our lovely markets, buildings, quayside, bridges and football stadium.
Each stage can be accessed 24/7 but is not an wheelchair accessable cache due to the final location. At each location, I will provide a link for further historical information should you want to read that.
Final location is a popular photography spot. From here you can walk back into town or take the Q3 bus located just at the top of the steps at the geocache.
So lets get started. Go to location 1 (the cache page co-ords)
Location 1 -
Nothumberland street ( Click Here for historical information)
Where should I look ? You are stood on Northumberland street with a white building that has men statues on the front of it.
What information do i need ? How many male figures are on this building ( Answer gives you A)
Location 2 -
Greys monument (Click Here for Historical information)
Where should I look ? You are stood looking at Greys monument. A very popular spot to meet people or go shopping.
What information do i need ? Look on the momument, both sides have text on it. You are looking for a date for the Great Reform Bill 193X ( X = B)
Location 3 -
Grainer Market (Click here for or Historical information)
Where should I look ? You are looking at the entrance to the Grainer Market, a popular market that contains lots of local ran stall. A great spot for some lunch or some vintage shopping.
What information do i need ? RHS of entrance blue plaque. There is a date for when the market was opened. This is 1X35 ( X = C)

Strawberry Pub / Place (Click here for or Historical information)
Where should I look ? You are stood at the side of a pub that is well known by local football fans. Very crazy on match days but should be quiet any other time. No need to enter
What information do i need ? Information on display. In 18X9 John Brunton's will stated (X = D)
Location 5 -
St James park NUFC Fence (Click here for or Historical information)
Where should I look ? You've walked around the exterior of the football club. Now you have arrived at some popular gates. A great spot to get a quick photo.
What information do i need ? What colour is the gate. White = 3 Black = 1 Red = 2 (Answer gives you E)
Location 6 -
China Town (Click here for or Historical information)
Where should I look ? You're at the entrance of China town, a place with a wide range of different Asian food and drinks. A great place to visit during Chinese New year.
What information do i need ? How many Chinese Guardian Lions are there protecting the gate (Answer gives you F)
Location 7 -
The Old Tyne Theatre and Opera house

Where should I look ? You are standing near a piece of art and looking at the old Tyne Theatre
What information do i need ? Look above the entrance and below the name "Tyne Theatre & Opera House" there is another name for the Theatre.
Stroll X Theatre ( X = G)
Location 8 -
Central station (Click here for or Historical information)
Where should I look ? This is the main line train station for the area. You should be facing the front of the train station from across the street
What information do i need ? How many arches can you see (Don't include the sides. Just look at the front from where you are at) THEN + 2 (This will give you H)
Location 9 -
Newcastle Castle (Click here for or Historical information)
Where should I look ? You are stood at the Newcastle castle. Go up a few steps and you will see a blue plaque on the left.
What information do i need ? When was the earlier castle founded 1X8X (X will give you I)
Location 10 -
Newcastle Quayside / Tyne Bridge (Click here for or Historical information)
Where should I look ? You are stood on the quayside. Look up, theres the bridge. Find the local map display stand with useful tourist information.
What information do i need ? Look at the Directory. Laing Art gallery can be found in square CX (X will give you J)
Location 11 -
Baltic Art Gallery (Click here for or Historical information)
Where should I look ? Look across the river, you will see a converted Mill to an art gallery. Free entry to the art gallery.
What information do i need ? Text on the side of the art gallery reads Baltic X Mills (X = K)
