La Légende de Notre Dame du Chêne : un jeune berger trouve un jour une statuette de la Vierge dans le creux d’un chêne, et la ramène chez lui. Qu’elle n’est pas sa surprise quand, le lendemain matin, il découvre que la figurine est revenue d’elle-même dans l’arbre. L’expérience renouvelée plusieurs fois, une chapelle fut construite et elle devint un lieu de pèlerinage connu qui aurait attiré Saint Bernard et le roi Louis XI. La chapelle actuelle date de 1867.
Le tronc du chêne est conservé derrière le maître autel et une grotte, située à côté de l’église abrite une source qui semble guérir tous les maux.

The legend of Notre Dame du Chêne (Our Lady of the Oak) : a young shepherd found a long time ago a statue of the Virgin Mary in a hole of a oak. He carried it at home. He was really astonished when he discovered the day after that the statue came by itself in the tree. This experience happened again and then a chapel was built and became a well-known pilgrimage. Perhaps Saint Bernard of Clairvaux and the King Louis XI might have come. The present chapel is dated from 1867.
The trunk of the oak is preserved behind the altar. Next to the chapel, you’ll discover a grotto with a spring. This one seems to cure all the diseases.
