The Posted Coordinates will take you to stage one of the hunt. Parking is available on either side of Shark River Park. You are not required to complete the challenge to log the cache... but what's the fun in that?
A while back most of the Geocaching Statistics programs started including a matrix that showed which days of the year you had logged a find. It didn't take long before it became a challenge cache - Record a find on every single day of the year - including Leap Day! This cache gives the New Jersey locals a chance to log one of these challenges without having to leave the state.
The Rules: Find a cache, attend an event/CITO, take a webcam cache picture, complete a Whereigo or any other caching "Success" on every day of the year - a Cache of the Day or CotD. They don't have to be sequential so you can take as many years as you want to complete this quest. Any find, starting with your first, is eligible! If you haven't been caching long enough to see a leap day but have cached on all 365 possible days feel free to venture out to log this cache. You get bonus points if you complete all 366 days consecutively. A mighty streak! Double bonus points if all of your finds are in NJ! Tracking these stats have recently become much easier when Geocaching.com released a Statistics tab on your profile but you can always do it the long way by checking each day in your profile. No picture grid, bookmark list or other "proof" of your accomplishment is necessary to log this cache - just sign the physical log book... if you can find it!
The Hide: Nothing fancy - just your standard multi-stage cache with a nice hike through shark infested woods. Snowshoes and water-wings are optional. No swimming is required though the trails get muddy from time to time. The difficulty and terrain are set to reflect the standard high points that most cachers encounter in a years worth of caching. You already have at least 366 finds so you're used to poison ivy, ticks, thorns, chiggers and hunters right? This is one tough challenge - Enjoy a peaceful walk through the park. You've earned it! Once you log this cache feel free to start over and come on back when you have completed all 366 a second time.
