Geocache Description:

This cache is one of seven in my "Let's Read" Library Series of caches (see details below.)

The cache container contains a log, a coin, and a geopin for the FTF. It also contains a question to help solve the seventh "Let's Read Puzzle Cache."

Please bring your own pencil.

Let's Read Library Series

Background
In 2000, the residents of San Jose voted to pass a $212 million Library Bond Measure to build 6 new branches and remodel 14 of the 17 neighborhood libraries.

We are now enjoying the benefits of several new and remodeled neighborhood branches that not only include state-of-the-art libraries, but also provide Internet cafes, public art displays, and even community centers.

Our family spends enough time visiting our local libraries that we felt it was quite fitting to put together our own "Let's Read" series at our favorite local branches.

Details about this Series
Here are the seven caches in the "Let's Read" Library Series:
Note: The "Let's Read Puzzle Cache" requires you to find the other six caches first, and answer the library-related question included with each of the six caches. Don't forget to write down and save your answers to all six questions if you want to find the "Let's Read Puzzle Cache."

The Pearl Library
The Pearl branch re-opened on August 9th, 2008. It's a small library, but very pretty inside. It has a nice Children's section with four cool art glass windows (made by Lynn Goodpasture) in the back corner with letters and characters from different languages.

Aside: My daughter's artwork was displayed in this library when it first re-opened!

There's a cool lamp hanging in the lobby that changes color, depending on the amount of sunlight shining on it (i.e. solar powered.) It's called "Solar Illumination I: Evolution of Language". It uses glass-embedded photovoltaic cell technology to provide power to an LED lamp. Check it out!

Congratulations to Geokashers for being FTF!
