Well – we discussed 2 items over the past month or so-
1) Cohuna needed its own cache.
2) We wanted to do something significant for 1 Jan 2011
– why not combine the 2?
Cohuna is situated on the Murray Valley Highway between Echuca and Kerang. It is a bustling township with a strong commercial centre. The picturesque main street is situated opposite the Gunbower Creek and is a great stopover for travellers.

Cohuna is a popular holiday destination for fishing, camping, bushwalking and water sports with the Murray River and Gunbower Creek providing a beautiful setting amongst the majestic red gums.
A magnificent 18 hole golf is set amongst the red gums and alongside the Gunbower Creek and is the home course of Australian Champion Stuart Appleby.
Gunbower Island is over 26,000 hectares with 19,500 hectares of forest and 1,000 hectares of marshes and waterways. Visitors can expect to see many of the 260 species of bird life and animals that inhabit these wetlands.
Cohuna has a strong dairy industry on the riverine plains and supports a diverse business and manufacturing sector.
I grew up in this pretty little town on the banks of the Gunbower creek.
