Geocache Description:

The ancient city of Amos this can only be approached by road from either kumlubuku or turunc. It can be walked to but in the extreme heats please carry lots of water, sun blocks etc. Plan ahead for this cache. It is a steep climb and will take some time. Please keep children very close to you as if you walk along the marked path to the scenic view, which is past the cache, the path is within 3 metres of the cliff edge.

The cache is as we say in England. A disco cache. This means it is disguised ! It blends in well with the surroundings and the GPS location is very accurate. It is a small cache , with log only. Please bring your own pencil.

The ancient city of Amos, one of the important settlements of the Rhodian Peraia in the Kumlubuk Area of Turunc, Marmaris, is situated on a hill over the Hisar Cape overlooking land and sea traffic66 metres above sea level.

Amos is one of the 3 settlements in the Rhodian Peraia that has a theatre.
When you visit you will also see the altar which was used for cult activities !

The theatre seats 1300.

The theatre in Amos can be reached by passing two city walls. Built as a single level 88 metres above the sea.

This cache is maintained by a local expat.
