We're brand new to geocaching and this is our first hide. As we get more experience--and get better at finding other caches!--we'll make future hides more challenging, but this one is pretty simple. It's easy to get to on foot or bike and, while it's in a public space next to Oregon Expressway, it's out of sight to most Muggles!
Update (1/3/11): based on feedback on several logs (thanks!) we're upgrading this from 1 to 1.5 for difficulty and terrain.
Oregon Expressway was opened for traffic in May of 1964, after 90 homes were moved or destroyed to make this link between highway 101 and Alma St (it becomes Page Mill Rd. at Alma). Originally the expressway was to be a fenced-in extension of Highway 101 with only two access points (at Louis and Middlefield), causing alarm among many citizens that Palo Alto would be permanently divided between 'north' and 'south.' Recent proposals to increase the traffic flow on the expressway by closing off several existing intersections have renewed public controversy.
