Geocache Description:

The cache is located in the northern extremity of Lysterfield Lake Park. It is a smallish clip top box.

On the 23rd February, 2009 a fire started several Kilometres North West of the Cache position. Shortly after the fire started a fire truck was proceeding north along the track close to this cache. Encountering thick smoke the driver stopped and began reversing back along the track. The drivers vision hampered by smoke the truck was reversed into the bush and came to a stop against a tree. In the process essential parts of the truck were damaged reducing it's ability to survive a "Burn over". With the fire around them the crew of the truck ran for their lives down the track to the south, taking refuge at the house about 500m away. 2 of the fire fighters received minor burns.

The cache is located very close to where the Fire Truck was destroyed by fire.

Please do not attempt to find this cache on severe or greater fire danger.
