It has been a long cold winter in the Miami Valley - now it's time to get out and enjoy a little of what the area has to offer! The United State Air Force Museum, Geocaching and PIZZA!

What: The Great Dayton Winter Getaway VII
When: Saturday February 26th
Time: from 2:00 till 6:00pm
Where: The National Museum of the United States Air Force & Marion's Pizza

This years marks our 7th annual winter Getaway and it is all because of the great group of geocachers here in the Miami Valley and beyond that make this hobby so much fun!

The fun starts at 2:00 at the museum as we will be meeting inside the lobby of the museum to get you started on a fun afternoon of discovery! Here is the schedule for the afternoon:

2:00 - 2:30 - Meet inside lobby of museum to get your instructions
2:00 - 4:00 - indoor scavenger hunt
4:00 - 5:00 - outdoor event caches nearby
5:00 - 7:00 - Meet and greet part of event at Marion's North Piazza

We will be awarding our 2010 MVG Travel Bug Race Winner as well as kicking off the 2011 race. If you are interested in joining the 2011 race - send us an email or drop a note here on the cache page.
So far we have 23 of 25 travel bugs spoken for this years race. The travel bugs are $6.00 each and will be available at the event. Here are the 2011 travel bug racers so far:

The Meet and Greet part of the race will be from 5:00 - 7:00 at the Marion's Pizza 3443 North Dixie Drive (see additional waypoints).
Here we will discuss our favorite things in life : Geocaching!
We will also hand out a few prizes, swap trackabes and a few geocaching stories.
