A Blue-Frosted Sudoku Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

sandlanders: In the area today so decided to check on this one... and then decided to archive it. Container has been removed and there is nothing left to find at the solved coordinates.

The cache has been pretty easy to find for a long time now, but sadly, only about the first third of the finders got to enjoy the original retrieval mechanism that made signing the log sheet a bit more challenging. The bison tube was hanging tucked in the space between the sign board and the curved post not quite out of sight and barely out of reach, and a rigging involving fishing line and hex nuts, when manipulated correctly, lowered the container enough to unscrew the parts to access the log... until a seeker just yanked on the bison tube until the fishing line broke, then added some magnets to hold the bison tube in place.

Thanks to all who solved the puzzle and came to look for the final on this hide whether they found it in its original configuration or the way it been changed, after which we decided to leave it that way because it was too difficult to rerig the retrieval the way we intended it to be done.

The cache is not at the listed coordinates!
You might end up floating downstream if you go there.

Observe a blue-frosted cupcake. What does it look like when viewed from the top? Of course! It resembles the spiral sudoku puzzle below. There's nothing very hard about this puzzle. Just solve it as you would any sudoku puzzle, maybe munch on a blue-frosted cupcake while you do so. Mmmmm... a sweet treat. When you have solved the puzzle, take the numbers you have put in the boxes containing letters, and substitute them for the corresponding letters to find the final coordinates here:

N 44 AB.CDE W 089 FG.0HJ
(Note the "zero" in the coordinates.)
