Geocache Description:

Another reason to visit Wharton Park in Durham - a Victorian park with great views, a few minutes' walk from the city centre and the station.

This is a fun, short challenge aimed at children. It has started with several tradeables carefully chosen by the mini cachers who planted it so please choose your additions with this in mind.

The cache is a lock-and-lock box in a camo bag. The park has some fairly steep hills and the cache is off the path but not by far and you can get a buggy to it fairly easily. It should be no problem for children of any age. We have planted it in winter when there are no brambles, hopefully these won't be a problem later in the year.

This cache could start or finish off a fun trip to the park which has great views, swings and slides, go karts (in summer), picnic tables, a basketball court and lots of room to explore.

If you access the park from the A691 you can drive up into the carpark within Wharton Park. Or you can park in the pay-and-display bays on North Road and walk in from the other side. There is also a direct path from the Northbound side of the station, up the steps.
