Geocache Description:

Many of you seasoned cachers have seen this one before. There is a reason why I have brought it back to life.....

The orignial Wilcox Micro Cache (GC192Y7) was hidden by a CO named Canadavey. I found this cache in my early days (After many trips I might add) and it was the first container I found that was truly camouflaged into its surroundings. . This cache, more than any, influenced me to start the Fangly LOD caches. When I saw that it had been Archived I spoke to Canadavey and asked if I could adopt it. He agreed, but unfortunately Geocaching rules dictate that once a cache it archived it cannot be reinstated for adoption. With this in mind the CO graciously offered me the container so I could bring this one back to life.

This container is so simple, yet such a pain in the butt to find! I have moved it slightly to give all the previous finders another run at it. Thank you Canadavey for not only putting this cache out in the first place, but allowing me to let it live on....

Lake Wilcox & Sunset Beach Park have been around for years and was once a location for Torontonians to escape their busy working days in the summer time way back in the early days. Today, the Lake and Park are used by locals and others throughout the GTA both in Summer and Winter. In the Winter months if the ice is thick enough, the Town of Richmond Hill maintains the ice so that the community can enjoy an outdoor ice rink. There is a sign posted infront of the Lake with the status of the ice noted, please follow this notice for your own safety.

Additional notes about the Cache:

  • You shouldn't have to remove the container from it's hiding spot to sign the log. Please remove only the lid and log and replace them when you're done. This is for a few reasons; it saves the tree a little bit, keeps the cache in it's original position and cuts down on maintenance.
  • The cache is camouflaged to match it's surroundings.
  • Bring your own lead / ink to sign the log as the only thing inside the cache is a log.
