Geocache Description:

Homebush Homestead was established by the Deans brothers, pioneers to Christchurch and Canterbury. The woolshed can be seen from the road, it is on private property and can be visited by appointment only. There is no need to enter the area for your search, it is a simple roadside cache. Parking should not be a problem, but watch children on a busy road.

The woolshed at Homebush, the Darfield farm of the pioneering Deans family, who have farmed here from the 1850s, Canterbury, New Zealand. The woolshed is built from bricks that were made on the property, as were the other early brick buildings on the farm, including the homestead.
