Geocache Description:

NOTE 4/12/2011: Due to one person's misplaced vendetta (read tiredofhaulingtrash note dated 4/11/2011) and his/her promise to keep stealing caches placed here, I am willing to accept a photo of you and your gps at the waterfall as your signature in the log. There will continue to be a cache placed at this location, even if stolen, but it will be hidden very, very aggressively. (I'm not sure I would even look for it if I were you). The treasure at this cache site is the site itself and I don't want anyone ruining their experience looking for too long for a cache that someone may have stolen again. I certainly won't be bullied into not sharing this spot with other responsible individuals and I hope you won't be antagonized away from it.

This cache is the second of what I hope to be a series of hidden treasures throughout the local area. The cache certainly isn't the treasure here. The hiking isn't the most scenic until you reach the end and then the "payoff" is fantastic. Enjoy!!!

Park near these coordinates (N34 36.314 W84 00.301). The road has an earth berm to permanently block vehicular traffic. There is enough room for two vehicles near the berm. You will be walking on an old forest service road for roughly 20 minutes to the end (N34 36.025 W 083 59.682). At the end of the road you will take a wide foot path to a fire ring (N34 36.108 W083 59.652). At the fire ring you will take a smaller footpath to the left down to an elbow in the creek. The waypoints for each spot are given below. It will appear easier to bushwack to the cache. However the trails are much easier and eliminate most of the steepness. The last 400 ft or so is the reason for the terrain rating. You will walk upstream on narrow "goat" paths until you have to head straight up the hill (steep) one hundred feet or so. Hopefully no muggles up there. Please recover cache well so this one doesn't disappear. Cache contents include many small kids items.

I would bring a change of clothes for the swimming hole at the creek.

The cache container has been marked to comply with USFS guidelines.

Congrats FTF: Mendylou
