Paul n Susan: It is with great sadness that we archive this cache, indeed what has been reported in the previous log is true. Not sure these trees needed to be trimmed so excessively, but what do we know! As we passed by late this evening, we could see no alternative placement within allowable distance.

Many thanks to all who have found this cache and written such great logs of your visit.

Geocache Description:

The posted co-ordinates are for Christie's Methodist Cemetery, a pioneer cemetery located at Lot 33, Concession IV in Scarborough Township. Things have changed around here since the 1800's.

(Read Carefully)

At or very near the posted coordinates, locate the memorial for James Clealand, who died in February, 1855. What date in February? (Little Mary Jane passed away on the same day a few months later.) That date is "A".

Also along the stone wall is a smaller marker for Maria Ann Lubbuck, who died on April 13. Take the last two digits of the year she died (ie. leave off the "18"), and subtract "A". What remains is "B".

Add A/1000 to the WEST co-ords, and B/1000 to the NORTH co-ords, and you'll get the co-ordinates for a small restin'-issue camo'd bison tube, no goodies, no pencil. It is not located in the cemetery, but it is located very close by.

Please be respectful of your surroundings, even if nobody else even notices as they go about their busy day. If you would like more information about the cemetery, there is a small plaque a little South of the posted co-ordinates erected by the Scarborough Historical Society. We have included a picture of it in the gallery.
