Geocache Description:

This is a tribute cache for Debbie Scheible (1961 – 2010).

She was a beloved geo-cacher and a brave warrior in her 6 ½ yr. battle with cancer.
“silentwing” as she was known by geo-friends had 331 cache finds. She thoroughly enjoyed our hobby!
During her last days her daughter and I asked, “What do you want your tribute cache to be named?”
She replied, “Debbie’s Last Triumph”.

Outside of the room that was to be her final resting spot at Hospice was a large painting with stanzas
& musical notes. This was accompanied by a timeless poem that may remind you of “silentwing”.
It reads as follows:
“The next place that I go will be so quiet and still, that the whispered song of sweet belonging will rise up to fill the listening sky with joyful silence, and with unheard harmonies of music made by no one playing, like a hush upon a breeze.”

Grandzero & KeeSu would like to invite you to be courageous and brave the elements as you make your journey from the car to her Last Triumph. From the heavens, your path will resemble a smile(y).

Please park at the trailhead: N43 17.006, W77 41.504.

As you begin your trek towards the prize remember that you will be bearing right the whole way there.
At N43 16.692, W77 41.575 you will be arriving at the telephone pole seats. Here you are welcome to take a moment to sit & enjoy the silent wings overhead. Debbie would have cherished doing this !
This is also the halfway point.

As you continue along you will pass over a bridge and immediately to your left on the water’s edge is a few “Upside-Down Spider “ trees @ N43 16.526, W77 41.417.
Kinda looks like they’re walking on the ceiling. At one point I was going to hide the final container here but thought it was too close to the water and possible snake activity and silentwing had disfavor with spiders and snakes anyways.

As you draw your eyes forward towards your future footsteps you will notice you are nearing the conclusion of your expedition.

PLEASE NOTE that it is preferred that you walk a very short distance past ground zero to the “Meadow Entry Point “ @ N43 16.540, W77 41.207. (Creating a geo-trail prior to reaching this point may shorten the life of this cache.)

Once entering the meadow it is a hop-skip & a jump to Debbie’s 49th Christmas Tree !!!
You will encounter minor bushwacking during the last 25 feet.
Waiting for your arrival is a .50 cal ammo can (attained from fellow geo-friend "c-fire"), filled with items that we envisioned “silentwing” would get for young children.

KeeSu provided the "Pink Breast Cancer Ribbons". Wear proudly but please, only one per person.

Please rehook the container so that it may be found in winter time.
The path to the final is well travelled and mostly always busy. Please be wary during deer season and stay on the trail.
I believe the cache trip and placement to be safe from harm. I’ve witnessed families and dogs on the trail during every visit. Placement occurred immediately following a January thaw after December 2010’s record snowfall of 46.5” and I arrived back at my car with fairly dry boots.
In contrast, between last & first frosts, mosquito repellent may enhance your experience.

Thank you for sharing in the memory of “silentwing”.

Special permission has been granted by the DEC to place this cache in the Braddock's Bay Wildlife Management Area,

Respectfully, Ratamacue25, DSchibbs89&ABrow1 & Samantha claim FTF.

A snow-squally congrats to "ttomw" for being the non-family member FTF !!!!!

PEACE
