Fylkestinget vedtok i 1919 også å kjøpe Høgefoss kraftverk av
Ragnvald Blakstad. For å finansiere kjøpet og den nødvendige
utbyggingen av lavspentnett i fylket ble det opptatt et lån på 25
millioner kroner. I 1919 hadde allerede om lag 12 000 av
innbyggerne i landkommunene i Aust-Agder elektrisitet, enten fra
egne mindre kraftverk, eller fra Arendal kommunale
elektrisitetsverk. I de økonomiske nedgangstidene i
mellomkrigstiden ble kraftverket kostbart for kommunene i
Aust-Agder. Prisene på kraft var lave, og ikke tilstrekkelig til å
forrente det store lånet som var tatt opp. Gjeldsforhandlingene i
1938 sikret et videre liv for AAK. I 1950- og 60-årene sto AAK for
flere store utbygginger, bl.a. Dynjanfoss kraftstasjon. I 1957
regnet man hele Aust-Agder fylke for elektrifisert. Selskapet
skiftet etter fusjon med Arendal kommunale elektrisitetsverk om lag
år 1998 navn til Aust-Agder Energi, og ble i år 2000 en del Agder
Energi.
Aust-Agder power plants (AAK) was a power company that was
established by the Aust-Agder county council as an inter-municipal
corporation of the municipalities of Aust-Agder in 1919 with the
aim to provide electric power. The company is currently part of
Agder County Council adopted in 1919 also purchase High power plant
by Ragnvald Blakstad. To finance the purchase and the necessary
expansion of lavspentnett in the county was concerned about a loan
of 25 million. In 1919, already had about 12 000 inhabitants of the
rural municipalities of Aust-Agder electricity, either from their
own small power plants, or from Arendal municipal electricity
utility. In the economic downturn in the interwar period the power

life for AAK. In 1950 - and 60-year AAK stood for several major

taken as the Aust-Agder county electrified. The company changed
after the merger with Arendal municipal electricity works around
the year 1998 the name of Aust-Agder Energi, and became in 2000
part Agder Energi.
