Geocache Description:

In order to find the final coordinates of this cache you will have to attempt this during the following hours.

Mon, Tues, Wed: 10am-9pm
Thurs, Fri: 10am-6pm
Sat: 11am-3pm
Sunday: Closed

This cache was inspired by the National Treasure movies. So I hope you enjoy the treasure hunt.

To solve the final location of this cache you will need to use a book cipher. Book ciphers were used to encrypt messages during times of war. Both parties would have an exact copy of the book so that the letters are located on the same page and position. For this reason a Bible and a dictionary make good choices as long as you are using the same edition.

You will first need to obtain the book REF JR 973 RUB page 72 located at the first waypoint, which is used to decipher the coordinates.

This book cipher will use a row, column code. Row indicates the sentence the letter is located on
and column indicates the location of the letter in that sentence. Spaces between words are
counted as one column. The page title is not considered a row. The paragraph title is not considered a row. Spaces between paragraphs are not considered rows.

For example, using the previous paragraph the book cipher code 1,2,1,15,2,7,3,18,1,7 would spell out the word “hello.” (Do not print this example page because the paragraph gets reformatted and the sentences will be off.)

Finally, in order to convert the letters to numbers the following 10-letter keyword is used

C

R

Y

P

T

O

N

I

A

S

1

For example, if the book cipher code resulted in the letters TSR, then your decimal coordinate would be .502

The decimal portion of the final cache location coordinates is in the book cipher code: 2,1 1,19 7,4 for N and 9,5 5,4 8,5 for W
