A geocache on one of the loop tracks in Waharau Regional Park.
Waharau extends from the gravelly shore of the Firth of Thames (Tikapa Moana) into the eastern foothills of the Hunua Ranges. The coastal part of this park lies between the Waharau Stream in the north and sandy Waihihi Bay in the south. Waharau is the eastern gateway to the Hunua Ranges.
A series of loop tracks explore the foothills of the Hunua Ranges and link to some of the more rugged tramping tracks in the ranges.
This cache is placed on the yellow loop track which takes about 2 hours max to complete. Or you can chose to continue further up into the Hunua Ranges.
The cache is a 1.2 ltr Sistema container with a logbook, pen and some trade items. (special thanks to Boges for supplying the container)
