Geocache Description:

Park at the coordinates listed in the additional waypoint on this page.

Container is a preform camoed to blend in. There is a hike of about .8 miles up an old abandoned paved road that is being taken over by nature and in some areas is almost covered by plants. The terrain is not overly steep but you will climb about 200 feet. It took us about 30 minutes with several stops to look at the beautiful views.

Follow the center line of the road to the picnic area up on the hill. You will go through a turn style gate a short distance up the road and then through a second one a little further, the second one takes you into the National Park. Continue to follow the road, when you get a short distance from the cache you will go through a third gate, this gate takes you outside the National Park, continue to follow the road to the picnic area.

This is an old picnic area that has been abandoned for some time. From this point you have a terrific view of the mountains and the highway below. The picnic area itself is very overgrown and falling apart, back in it's day it was probably very nice.

Please be careful and as always watch out for things that poke, bite or sting.

NOTE: Some posts talk about the last gate being locked or you need to climb over it, it isn't locked & you don't need to climb over it, one of the links is open so you can remove the chain & open the gate.
