Cherokee Park Water Trough Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

bunrun: A nice place for a cache but I have had way too many containers come up missing here. Time to try something else. Going to try a letterbox in this location. All previous DNF's feel free to log with owner's permission.

Geocache Description:

One of several water troughs included in the original design for Cherokee Park. My research on this site found several references to Bingham Trough reportedly named in honor of Elizabeth Bingham but nothing that I could confirm.

Since I live in the area and my concept is that hides should be convenient to work, home or somewhere I go frequently so that I can check on and service my caches. I had to put one in Cherokee Park. Also, this spot holds a special place in my heart. My father used to bring me here many moons ago to play in Beargrass Creek and swim in the deep hole around Big Rock. He would always park here if it was available. Just another childhood memory cache for me.

This spot was blocked a few months back when I first looked at it. A cache has been taken down and now there is a hole in the geo-zone that needs to be filled. You are looking for a subdued medium Rx Bottle hidden in a geo-obvious spot. Bring your own pen. Parking available within 10 feet of cache.

7/23/18 - Cache now a small black tube containing a waterproof log. It is best signed with a permanent marker - ball point and gel pens work - pencils not so much.
