The Kalgan river contains many small islands, particularly in the section below the Upper Kalgan bridge. The largest island is Honeymoon Island (also called Elbow Island), which is slightly upstream of the Lower Kalgan bridge. This island has a small clearing and can be readily landed upon.
The only way to get to the cache is on a boat or to kayak, if your super keen you could swim the distance across to the island. The map for some reason shows that the geocache is on land however there is an island and local cachers will probably know where to go, however if you arent local or dont know, you can launch a boat at the lower kalgan bridge or at the Kalgan river ski club. If your mode of transport is on a kayak the best place to start is at the beginning of the luke pen walk.
The best place to stop on the island is near the large pine tree, there is plenty of space and a small trail heading to the cache location. Once on the island i counted roughly 27 "lady" steps starting next to the pine tree, heading along the trail, up the hill.
To the right is a small tree, about 2 m from the trail. the cache is located next to the tree, it had to be in the bush a bit as the island seems to be a popular spot for people to fish off, so i wanted to make sure it was well hidden.
The cache itself is a large PVC pipe with a screw top lid, camo painted to blend in better, there is room for plently within the cache. GPS coverage may be a little patchy as there is a bit of vegetation cover. I have provided a spoiler photo if you wish to use it.
